• Without compromising his ethics or integrity,
Sean Griffin (Aka Griffin One) has built a career for himself as a muralist, illustrator and graphic logo designer.  He works to balance his focus between his personal work and the needs of his clients. Griffin's urban influenced style falls somewhere between aggressive and inviting. Sharp and edgy composition combines with natural and fluid movement to create powerful and substantial images that both exemplify and defy both classifications. This inability to settle on one style is reflective of his approach to life in general.  He is always looking for new and innovative ways to assert his individuality and fine-tune his skills. Never short on inspiration,  Griffin is a passionate traveler and collaborator with other artists world wide.

• The nice and short story version... Bio.

Sean Griffin (Aka Griffin One) was Born in Nairobi, Kenya in 1975 to parents who share his love of traveling, art and inspiration. With 3 year old Sean in tow, his parents moved back to the United States in 1978, settling in the ultra hip and creative center of the southwest Sedona, Az. This environment has provided the perfect storm to nurture many artists imagination, and so was the case with Sean.

Sean understood and developed his artistic talents from a very early age. He drew on everything around with what ever it seems he had around him. Illustration as Graffiti was in his blood, and he became consumed with creatively getting up where ever possible. It was obvious Griffin needed a bigger city, he choose Seattle, Washington after high school and attended the Seattle Art Institute for Illustration. Along side graduating from A.I.S. 1997 his first contracted job out was with Humongous Entertainment a children's video game Co. He also later worked in a high end graphics shop called Prism Graphics designing vinyl decals for Yachts as learned how to screen print, giving Birth to The GIMIK Project. Two of His first freelance experience were with Liquid Force wake boards and His first commissioned aerosol mural, for the Lava room bar in Seattle. This mural, which is still there today marks the start of Griffin's making a career creating commissioned murals using strictly aerosol.

Tired of the rain, the next move for Sean was south to California in 2000. Where he tried his hand at airbrushing large inflatables for a couple years, while at night performing his live art on a stage in front of hundreds of people at local Dj club nights at places such as the Bee Hive and later concert events in and around the San Diego area. Other freelance work such as designing graphics for K2 skates as graphics for various record labels and bands. The first such was the Hip-Hop band the Drunken Immortals, Broken Beat, Jungle Riddum, Universatile Music, N2o productions etc.

Looking to explore a new region and try something new Griffin moved to Louisville, Kentucky in 2004. He soon stepped into the southern culture as their love for cars. He began designing vehicle wraps as installing them, learning the world of high end large digital output. He soon decided with the use of the internet and his experience to start freelancing full time. He was also involved and worked with city officials of Louisville , creating the first legal wall to paint murals and street art on. ( Under Hwy 65, connecting the two states IN. and KY.) Located directly in the middle of the art district in downtown Louisville, it was the first of its kind in the state. Griffin has painted 14 plus aerosol murals around the city including the largest solo aerosol mural in the state, entitled "The Highlands" in the neighborhood of the Highlands in which he lived. In 2007 He moved back out West from where from once he came.

Besides this mammoth achievement, Sean has created designs and painted for such names as DJ Q-Bert, Grind King, K-Razor, Slaughterhouse Music, Nestle Quick, United Airlines, Macy's, Red Bull, Camel, McCormmick motor Sports, Steel Lion Sound, Jargon clothing, Antidote and Bardeli long boards to name a few.

Griffin One currently lives in Tempe as of and is nationally known for his murals, illustration and logo design work for various T-shirt Companies and underground record labels. Griffin's graffiti-influenced style can be found on everything from skateboard decks, to life size fiberglass cows, to free-styling live art on stage in Arizona with such music acts as Dj Vadim, Aceyalone, Bassnectar ,Mr. Lif & Z-trip to name a few. Griffin is now a resident live artist at The world famous Blunt Club, the premier Live Hip-Hop weekly event in the southwest. He is also a member of the Art collective called Aplha Monster, which is a local non profit collective of artist working to better educated kids through art. Staying true to his travel bug he is about to embark in a 3 week long European Hip-Hop music tour with Awol-One and The Insects starting February of 2008, making Griffin one of the first to break the ice over seas performing live art on stage with the two musical acts.

Not only do I make an effort to connect with local designers and artists in the city Tempe Az. but I am equally connected to the cities I have lived in before, such as Seattle Wa., San Diego Ca., Louisville Ky. and Sedona Az. My frequent travels across the country and over seas keep me up to date with what's going on in other regions as well. I'm currently enjoying the south west after having lived and been exploring the south eastern states over last few years. I have a few other trips planned for the year, both in and out of the country. (Nairobi, Kenya last Aug. for example, where I was born some time ago.) I am however working on a Tour to Europe "Speak no Evil Tour" with Awol one and The Insects for a couple weeks, doing live art along side those two acts will be a good time as a good chance to coneect with more like minded people and see some new sites. Honestly, that keeps me inspired as an artist more than anything else, new scenery and some good old fashioned diverse culture.
