2 Jimi Hendrix murals depart the Haight as 'Red House' gets fresh coat of paint.

The first, "Purple Haze," was designed & painted by Sean Griffin aka Griffin One in 2013 with the help of Doty and Max Ehrman. It featured Hendrix with a guitar, echoing the style of '60s-era rock posters, Griffin said.

"That piece was a fun one," Griffin recalls, "and it was a big part of the whole experience" of being in the Haight. - Photo by :Streetview

Muralist, painter and digital designer. This is how Griffin, a Oakland natural, whose skills ranges from illustration to typography can be defined. In his style, which uses an aesthetic technique more typical of the airbrush than the spray, we can define it as a kind of Gothic realism in which we find an important presence of natural forms, mostly in the form of animals. In addition, his versatility on all types of surfaces makes it especially suitable for painting vehicles such as cars and vans. His wide artistic repertoire is exposed on his Instagram, where we also find his punctual, and no less interesting graffiti pieces. Photo by tatonka
